genKC’s First Annual Decision Maker

Being a member on genKC’s Board of Directors definitely has its perks. From the moment you walk into your first genKC meeting to the countless networking and social events, you start to make a difference in Kansas City almost instantly. From community involvement to professional development, genKC is giving the young professionals of Kansas City a way to connect and become invested in this city — our city.

The most recent event put on by genKC was the Decision Maker Breakfast. Not only did genKC members walk away knowing that they are surrounded by strong leaders but genKC member company’s CEOs, presidents, and overall decision makers were able to walk away knowing they have the right people in their organization learning and growing every day.
Joe Reardon, President & CEO of KC Chamber, kicked off the morning by giving an overview of genKC and how the Chamber has invested in young professionals by giving a specific branch dedicated to the growth of our future leaders, which we know as genKC.
Drew Elliot, chair of genKC, introduced the different committees which consists of Special Events, Professional Development, Community Involvement, and Marketing. Each committee chair spoke about this past year and shared stories and photos to showcase genKC members and how important the organization is to the success and future of Kansas City.
Closing the morning was JE Dunn’s own Gordon Lansford who spoke about the importance of having great people and the right culture to grow Kansas City and be able to invest in our future.
The Decision Maker Breakfast had many strong and passionate individuals in one room and was not only a great way to start the day but also showed Kansas City that we are able to give an opportunity to have young professionals flourish in our community. Kerri Troyer, long time genKC member said, “The passion, talent and dedication the genKC Board of Directors has for KC is off the charts!”
